Howdy all, first new post, though I've replied to a couple: Exhaust ?

Just bought an '08 GT 3 weeks ago and have already added the Hurst short throw shifter and K&N CAI. I'm thinking of switching the 3.31 rearend for a 3.73. Also, I've read that the stock GT mufflers flow pretty well. If I upgrade the exhaust to headers with an X pipe, would it be OK to stick with the stock mufflers, or should I upgrade them as well? I don't really want to get too loud, we live in a quiet older neighborhood and I'd like to keep it that way. I'm sure my neighbors would appreciate it also.

i think 3.55's are standard on 05 and 06's...years after that its an option.

Yah its an option for 3.55 for 2007. Alot of dealers went ahead and did it. I know my dealer put 3.55s on the GTs.

Also go with aftermarket mufflers for sound.

according to Ford's wesite. Every GT on the lot that had been upgraded to 3.55 had it listed as option on the sticker. My sticker does not have the RE ratio listed which means its the stock 3.31 ratio.
