Brakes

At what horsepower level would it be a good idea to upgrade rotors, brakes, and ss lines all around

Right away. These brakes arent the best for our cars. I know I want to upgrade as soon as possible.

I'll put it simply as... our brakes suck ass, I'm considering brakes as one of my first upgrades.

Yea people modding these cars simply neglect the fact that added hp means added danger and quick stops. Or they just dont want to shell out the money to upgrade. If you start adding hp you need to start adding stopping power. It should be at the top of your mod list.

I heard that our stock calipers are pretty good, that the only drawback are our crappy disks and pads...

Do you plan on racing your car on a race track? Other than that I really dont see why you would worry about it. But just getting better pads and drilled rotors once you need to replace your current pads would go along way. I take my car to the race track so im speaking from a little experience. I now exactly where they are lagging there and I know the down sides to our brakes dont get me wrong. Im the first to say that for race use the brakes should be your first mod on your stang. But on the streets i have never pushed my brakes and you really dont push your brakes on the street. and if you do you need to slow down. If your going to a track get the raceing pads (which are noisy for street use), and some performance brake fluid that has a higher boiling point. If you want more than that than look at drilled rotors and metal lines. That should be fine until you s/c your car then would need bigger rotors and some better calipers.

Trust me on this. Its cool to say you got brakes but you can find much better ways to enjoy the money you spend on your stang than somehting that you dont even use on the street.
