This is f-ing with me...

So I had to pull my blower and passenger side fuel rail off this weekend and when I put it back on I did a "carb cleaner vaccum check" of all the lines. Found out that my #1 injector is having air sucked past it. Pulled it off again, checked the o-rings, put some pet. on it to try to get it to seal. Still sucks air...there doesn't seem to be any damage to the injector, rings, or intake port, but I can't get the damn thing to seal up. Any suggestions, inputs? I hate to think that cylinder is running leaner than the rest, maybe I'm just being paranoid...

Grabber, I know your a bright guy, so don't think I'm belittling you, but did you by chance try a different injector in that spot and see if it sealed, then check where you moved it to and see if it leaked there. Then you know it's the injector seal itself.

Also, I like to do the following from an injector leak I experienced a few years back. I get cotton swabs (q-tips) spray a heavy dose of brake cleaner on them and swab out the injector holes. Any fine piece of dirt can cause what your getting. It's hard to see way down in there, but get a stool or something to stand on so you can see all the way down and make sure you clean the entire recess.

I have seen issues like this when I worked for the dealer. When I used to smoke, I would blow some smoke down around where I thought the source of the leak ( with car running of coarse ) and you could see the smoke getting sucked in where the leak was... Dont know if you smoke or if your leak is that big, but just thought I would throw the idea out there for you...

That's cool guys, I'll give that cleaning a try. I know it's going through the lower seal. We use the equivalent of vaseline to help seal up our o-rings on the aircraft fuel system...it's gotta be a purdy big gap cuz I used a good bit and it didn't help seal that injector leak. More to come...

I know this is probably a stupid question but i assume you checked where the injector is seated into the fuel rail as well right?
