Mac LT's?

Hey guys,

I was searching around for LT headers and found Mac's for $470
Mac Performance - performance accessories for cars, trucks, and motorcycles
Are these headers decent quality? How do they compare to other brands in quality and HP gain? Also, can I get a catted H to match these headers?

you would have to get a different brand catted H and custom fit it to make it work...MAC's are good but Kooks and American Racing Headers (ARH) are the best out there, but you deffinetly pay for them...MAC's are good though and 470 is an awesome price...

is there a significant different in hp&quality or is it most likely worth it to just get the macs? I saw JBA also direct from their website at 622 i think if those are any good?

We did a test on a 05 where we compared the JBA to the Mac and actually found not 1 h.p. between the to. It was the Mac L/T with prochamber versus the JBA L/T and there off road h-pipe. Also we finished up a 06 for a customer that made 685 h.p. to the tire and ran all Mac pieces.
Hope this helps.
Doug

Sweet setup, can't wait to get mine. Seems to be the best bang for the buck...and I like that...kinda like picking up a heavy-set prostitute...lower price, same results.

I was thinking about the borla stingers. can you get a catted prochamber? i need to still be able to pass emissions, will I be able to with this setup? will a catted h be quieter than a prochamber?

do they make a catted H pipe for MAC Lt's? i know they make a catted prochamber. if they look under your car and know where the Cats are suppose to be you will fail, but i seriously doubt they will know or even look.

well, that part i'm not really worried about. but when they test the actual emissions (they do test the exhaust gases right?) will the LT headers affect that or as long as I have some form of cat i'll pass in that area?

ok good that's my biggest worry. do you think this kind of setup will be too loud with LT, prochamber, stingers? i don't want it to drown out the whole cabin during regular driving
