2008 mustangs sync unit

Do the new 2008 mustangs come with the new sync audio systems and if so can you buy the head unit so i could be installed in a 2005. I was just reading about the sync and thought it would be a good upgrade thanks

According to Ford's website, only the Fusion, Focus, Taurus, Taurus X, Explorer, Sport Trac, and Edge are available with Sync in 2008.

And by the way, I played with Sync during a test drive of an Edge last month. It's pretty cool.

Yeah it looks cool, but Microsoft has the attention span of a kitten sometimes and will drop a product that's starting to get hot and run over to the next shiny bauble they see. On the other hand, their commitment to the xBox and Zune platforms are promising reversals of that reputation.

sync is their new radio mp3 platform with a bunch of cool features like voice activation, bluetooth etc. Its like a small computer for a head unit. Maybe someone can explain it better but thats pretty much the jist of it.

Sync does quite a few things. Go to Ford's website. You can't miss the links. Or watch TV for about ten minutes and you'll see one of their commercials that have been flooding the airwaves for the past six months.

Any word wether it can be used installed in a 06 GT? It would be a nice upgrade to the FM transmitter I have my Ipod running on.

Yeah those FM transmitter hookups are really hit or miss - had one a few years back and when I could get it to work it wasn't worth the hassle.

Could you get a line-in jack? Would still have to control through the ipod, but would have to sound leagues better'n an fm transmitter. Just a thought.
