White stripes on the vista blue look great IMO... I bought a set for my vista GT conv. but ending up never putting them on cause I saw another convertible with stripes and it looked weird on ther verts. If your looking for a set of white one I have a set of 3m vinyl stripes ( pre-cut )...

White or gray looks nice on the Vista blue.

But then I'm a big stripe fan on the S197's.

Oh, and another thing: If you drive your car a lot, and can afford it, get them PAINTED ON!! lol

My vinyl ones have been replaced once already on my 07, and are getting replaced again, this time with paint, come this spring. They are prone to peeling, chipping, and fading, and when they do, you can't even touch them up like you can with paint.

You're looking at around 800 - 1200 bucks to get them painted on depending on the paint shops in your area.

White of course looks great but if your going to do it. Do it right and have them painted and make sure they go all the way to the bottom of both bumpers.

After having been on the paint for a long while, it can mess up the paint where they are applied, yes. How bad depends on how much time your car sits outside and what environment it's in. A lot of times it doesn't necessarily hurt the paint where they are stuck on, but after say 5 or 6 years if your car spends a lot of time outside, and say, you didn't take care of the paint properly, if you were to then take the stripes off you might see a difference in shading now from where the stripes were compared to the rest of the paint.

Bottom line: Vinyl stripes cost what, 300 bucks or so depending where you get them and who does them? If you can afford it, have them painted on. IT also looks far better painted on.

And no matter what you do, polish and wax your paint properly to keep your paint & whatever stripes you get looking great.

thanks zip.

i live in texas, so ice isnt a problem. my car sits in my drive way, but its got a lot of tree cover and i wash my car weekley. wax every 3 months. and polish once a year.

what im also worried about is paint fade. have you had that issue?

My painter actually talked me out of stripes...He is always looking to make my cars look "original in some way" So he wants to do a flat black all along the rockers around the bottom lip of the front bumper and across the back bottom lip of the rear...bring it up around the exhaust cut outs.....I kind of like it. I have till spring to think about it...

I recently saw that Shelby with silver stripes and thought it look pretty good. I would get them painted though, look better and last longer. White would look good too, but kinda typical.

there is another vista blue running around my area with the shaker hood and silver stripes, it does look good, but i suggest having them PAINTED on like i had mine done they are flat black of course. a silver stripe kit with metal flake in would stand out pretty good.

Flat black shaker scoop and the small profile flat black ducktail spoiler would pull that paint scheme together real nice and give it a real snarky 70's look to boot.

Was thinking of flat black quarter and rear window louvers as well, but probably way too much "period detail".
