question to fellow canucks

Hey,

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows if canadians have the same legal protection with our warranties as far as mods go? Reading in previous posts Ive heard mention of a "magnus" or "magnuson" clause/act which, from what has been posted, makes the dealer have to prove the mod was the culprit. Im gonna do my mods anyway but just curious.

Alberta here...My dealer said that exact thing...as most ford dealerships offer ford racing products now...none of which will void warrenty. On any other aftermarket item...It has to be proven that the part in question caused the failure...otherwise its fine. Eg. My flash tuner in no way can cause my Calipers to seize. SO there would be no problem...its all dealer specific though. Mine is pretty good. Get to know your service manager it helps!

that is true it is all about the service manager, i take mine to lunch atleast 2 times a month. and he saved me close to 5k in warranty work.

he covered my main wiring harness when my wheel/tire combo rubbed and cut some wires in it, the harness was $1900. my rear end broke and he also covered it with a new eaton tru trac $1100. and 3 transmission rebuilds because it wouldn't go in gear anymore at $1000 a piece. and he also payed for the wrecker to pick my car up at the drag strip and bring it to the dealer.
