Tokico D-Spec
I can't decide if i want to buy them or not. How much of a differant feel does it give the car? Will i notice it during everyday driving? I'm putting 20's on my car and lowering it, so if i'm going to be down there anyway i want to replace the shocks if it's worth it. I will be buying d-specs OR gears. My argument for going with the shocks instead of the gears is, since i will be down there anyway, i don't wanna have to go back and put shocks in later when i could of done it now with no extra work. Also, i don't know for sure what supercharger i will be going with later, so i don't know if i want 3:73's or 4:10's.
So my main question is... Can you feel enough differance in everyday driving to make it worth buying the d-specs?

I'd go with the gears, but since the shocks have adjustable stiffness, its kind of a hard choice. If you like corner caving, I'd say do them, but for everyday driving, I think not.

i'm going with the d specs as well, i like the adjustability. I feel more comfortable with a softer setting on the streets here with my 20's but when i go through the winding roads at my house in pennsylvania i'll be stiffening it. I'm going the same route as you Juco, BMR lowering kit and tokico d specs and some control arms as well. I figured if Im down there ill do it all at once

There is a country road by my house that is nothing but hills and tight curves. It's a lot of fun!

The answer is yes. I have D-specs. the stock suspension is a mushy speedboat set-up that rises when you accelerate and dips when you stop, throwing all the weight on the brakes and causing them to fade. The D-specs will stiffen up the ride a little, cut the roll and understeer and keep the car level. More to the point, they keep the car in shape rather than letting it get out of shape. Power is nothing without control.
Lowering springs are pretty much essential too as you have to take the struts apart anyway. I use Roush springs which retain the ride quality even though they may not drop the car as much as some people would like and I can still get the car up on ramps forward.![]() So it will make a difference. Unless you drive like a pussy. ![]()

i have them also, but given you are thinking about gears also. i would do the gears. the shocks are really only going to take you about 2-3 hours to do the second time around. for the corners though they are great. you can make them very tight or about as loose as stock

Get the D-Specs now and save yourself the headache and labor to re do it again later down the road. Also with the D-Specs you can make the ride as soft or firm as you like it that's what make them so nice is the adjustability. Do them now.
Also make sure you get a adjustable panhard bar.

The BMR kit comes with everything to do it right. Panhard bar, relocation brackets, camber bolts, and new strut mounts.

yep, thats why i'm getting it. I think my stang will look and feel a whole lot better with 20's, bmr lowering kit, and tokico d-specs. I don't care about ride comfort... would it hurt my car or it's performance making the shocks as stiff as they can go and leave them that way?

Full hard is rough trust me you do not need it that firm especially running 20's
The shocks really are so easy to adjust that there is no point leaving them hard for everyday driving.
