Anyone Put Stripes On Their New GT?
so i ordered my 07 gt and will get it when i return from the hell we all know as iraq. it is the alloy grey with every option except for the shaker 1000. $1200 for two 10" subs is outrageous. i'm thinking about having like 10 or 12" stripes painted on it. i don't want to contrast the paint. probably will go with a very dark metallic red. maybe if they can add a red tint to the alloy paint. i'm looking at it probably costing at least $1000 more like $2000.
what do you all think about the size and how it would actually look being a very close match with just a little tint of red. i would want to do the interior also with dark red inserts for the seats. guess i'll just have to figure it out. time is flying over here. i have less than 3 months before i get outta hell and get the new ride

I'm thinking about putting some on mine since the mystachrome paint costs 500 dollars a quart I'm not ready to drop 5k for a paint job.
After the built block goes in maybe then. Here's a stripe painter. And thanks man for taking care of shit over there.

Mine already came with stripes.I like them. Why not use decals like Ford.
Are you sure you guy's want to paint them on?It's way too much money, they look like hell with a few rock chips on them, and if you need to repair the hood or trunk from a wreck...... $500 a quart ain't bad, your car might not even use a whole quart.Be safe and hurry home bro...i went out there in 91. Heres my stripes. They tapper inward at the nose and bottom of rear bumper cover. Not a great pic but.. [img]

Looks like hoodpins, wheels, and a Steeda sticker on the windshield would make them the same. Great looking car! Quite an eyecatcher.

I think both your car and mine are a nice way to say 'Remember when...' without going over the top. I really wasn't going for a 'tribute car'... just a little something to jog the memories and make you think back to the Machs and Bosses of the day. Have a great weekend!

Putting the 10" dual black stripes on my 07 Grabber (Spoiler Deleted), painting over the clear and then shooting clear on top of stripes. Going to use the original Shelby specs...with a twist.
Getting it done for about the same price as buying Fords decal kit and having them professionally installed. Plus as long as you keep the waxing up they'll last a heck of a lot longer than the decals. Treat it like a tattoo...make sure it's what you want and go for it!!! Will post photo when done...my other photos are over the 500k (whimpy) site limit. |

Here's some pics I made smaller...need to get some better shots, maybe this weekend.
I couldn't deal with the factory polished rims so it was "Swap out the rims for the gloss black ones or no deal". Traded my 06 Windveil GT (had since Apr) on it...saw too many of them and this thing really stood out as unique to me. I like how the sunlight makes it more yellow and then the shade brings out the orange...never thought I'd own a car that color, but DAMN...THAT THING STANDS OUT!!! Looking forward to getting the stripes on, the "twist" will be I'm having 281 CI cut out of the hood stripes...both sides reading left to right. May prevent me from tapering the hood stripes a little so the letters don't look goofy, but should be the most unique 07 Grabber in my neck of the woods. |
