+1, unless your driving style requires better stopping power - man these cars are heavy! A brake kit is definitely in my future before I do F/I.

I say grab some exterior stuff now. The gears and the drive shaft are smaller priced, individual items that don't require anything else - that makes 'em quite a bit easier to save up for one at a time later on. If you have a small credit card, say up to 500-1000, just earmark it for your small parts, pay 3-6 times the monthly minimum each month, and when it's down to $0, grab a new item.

I agree with you on the power, the car's awesome in that category as it stands - but I guess it's how you're wired - some people can't get enough of the go-fast pedal. I hope I never get used to the acceleration from this thing in 2nd gear.

Good luck deciding!

I know, i know. Thats why I decided to hit performance big time when i get back. I may do alittle cosmetic stuff, but only if I have alittle money left over, after the KB or whipple.

some springs, and rims are the only thing the S197 needs. when you start doing body kits, well ill just say it starts to rank with some little 4 bangers.

whipple, full exhaust, springs, and some wheels of your choice. would look and perform like a million bucks.

My main focus is the KB or whipple, new driveshaft, gears, and torque converter. If i got any money left over i'll get some suspension stuff and maybe like a new spoiler or chin spoiler. Thats the plan for right now anyway. Can't do anything for a couple more months anyway.

I want to buy this grille for my car, but it comes without the pony insert. Does anybody know where i can buy this pony emblem? The grille is $114, which is the best deal i've found on a grille.

KB offers a discount to the military if you didn't know. that might help you make your mind up a bit better. someone on here said they got the KB kit for $5300 which is a killer deal. all you have to do is change a pulley for more boost if you have your bottom done. i'll do performance long before looks every day. i of course like the idea of a sleeper much more than one with a body kit that is no faster than anything else in the same category. i am lowered with wheels and some wide dark blue metallic vynil stripes and i get looks and jaw drops quite often. if i do ever decide to go with a different body kit it would be after there was very very much go to bring to the board. maybe after i do the bottom end and get it sc'ed. i could see having a look saying "i will murder you" if you have the power to back it up.

Thanks for the reminder on the KB kit. It is my top choice right now, $5300 price range is an awesome deal. The only thing i don't like about their kit is the boost-a-pump that comes with it, i would much prefer a gt500 fuel pump. My main priority when i get back is power, done right.

I don't understand why shelbyperformanceparts.com has the pony on the grille in the picture, but don't sell it anywhere on there site.

Heh, it must be a Mustang thing, I haven't been able to figure out why FordAccessories.com has a bunch of stuff in their pictures but they don't sell them through their site at all.

Ack, sorry for the double post, didn't realize that was you Juco.

Are you absolutely set on that particular emblem? 'Cause a couple places (American Muscle and others) have painted versions of the regular grill pony I'd guess you could fit on the side with some ingenuity.

And yeah, that is a great price for the grill, nice find.

you can get a pony emblem and have it fabricated some in shop to work, CDC has one too i believe, but its alittle retro looking.

i'm sure if you called and talked to them you could get the boost a pump taken off and add the gt500 pump or get it from somewhere else. same as you could take off the programer and just get a tune emailed to you if you already have a programer.
