so hard

It's so easy to talk about what you're gonna spend your money on when you don't have it... Then when you actually have it, it's the hardest decision on earth. I can't decide what i want most for my car. I'm having a hard time sleeping trying to decide.

Juco, I totally understand I am going thru it as we speak, I finally got the wife to approve the money for my suspension (BMR Lowering kit and BMR LCAs) and the spyder shaft I wanted and once she said yes I found the Brenspeed / Comp No Springs required Cams and went wow, I could get those for just a little more money than the shaft..., then I'm thinking with the suspension done wheels may be the way to go...Power, Looks, Power, Looks, Aaaaahhhhhh. How to make these crazy decisions? I totally fell ya...

It is a good thing to discipline yourself not to spend every cent you have . At least save double what you want to spend and you'll have backup funds in case of a problem. Personally I would never spend more than 10 % of my cash on toys. And don't buy into that "I'll be too old to enjoy it" B S. I'm 56 and I just bet I have as much fun with mine as any 16 year old does.

excellent advice Norm. A lot of us younger guys save cash and spend it immediately on something we want. It's hard disciplining yourself to wait until you have a little more so you can cover for problems. I think the biggest problem with us 18-24 year olds is the fact that we also don't plan ahead. How many of the kids in my age group can say they started a Roth I.R.A. for themselves? Being in the Finance Industry and being a Finance/Accounting Major, I've been good with my money and make sure I have close to double what I need when I purchase my mods. I wish I could say I had a mother or father that could afford to bail me out when something breaks and I don't have money, but not everyone gets it so easy in life. Living at home and working full time, I have less bills than others so I can spend more on my car, but saving for the future is very very important

Well, there are a lot of differant options i'm concidering. I've already pulled the trigger on some rims, but can't decide what to do next. I love my stang a lot, but i've never been a fan of how it looks stock. I think they look pretty sick with some body work done to them though. Thats why i can't decide if i want to do some body stuff, or performance. I want the cervini ducktail spoiler, window scoops, side scoops, and the grille from the shelby gt. If i did that, i would have all the major body stuff i want done. I was also thinking that i could go with the "14 rotor kit all the way around from baer. That would give me the look i wanted from my wheels, plus it would help slow me down faster. Lowering kit and tokico d-specs would make the car ride a lot better. Gears and a drive shaft? gears and lowering kit? Lowering kit and just the front rotors? The decision is hard. If i have money left later in the semester i will buy more things, but right now, i'm looking to spend around $1,000-$1,200.

well every simple answer has a simple question.

do like i do. get a CC, or borrom money from somebody to buy what you want, with money you havent made yet, so when you do make the money, you end up paying for what you already have, that you wanted.

I am going to run into the same issue when i get back in the states. I am still struggling with the idea to improve looks or more performance....body kit and paint or supercharger? KB or Whipple? Steeda hood or cervinis? Too many choices, gonna have stoke when i get back. Oh well.

It can be a hard choice to some. It's not like our mustangs don't have power from the factory. If you aren't happy with the way your car looks, power can get old.

300HP isnt really that much from the factory, yeah its alot more than some, but compared to the rest of the performance market, it lacks some, this is the 21st century, you can now walk into a showroom and for well under $100K walk out with a car that comes with a warranty, and runs 10's.

and its also not like the new mustangs dont look good from the factory.

all show and no go is for rice.

Hey Juco, In my opinion go with the looks first. You have already got the basic mods that really improve the performance. Look at it this way, when you meet a stang on the road that has a billet grille or new front bumper and some aftermarket rims the first thing you think of is- That looked good! Then the next thing is roll down the window to hear the exhaust. You never think about how fast that car is. Also looks is what the ladies like. Its very easy to get caught up in bolt-ons but when you really look at it ,you only gain a few tenths off your times with every bolt-on. To me this would only be important if you spent alot of time at the track. I am planning on a gear swap in the future but I like spending my money on things I can see. With speed parts you get that first impression, kinda like when you first loaded that new tune. Wow this thing is a beast now! Then after months of driving you don't feel that no more. Hope this helps you out. Just my opinion.

Juco, don't worry about the rotors yet, you don't road race or have any serious power adders that you would need new rotors right now. I'd go with the lowering kit and the body parts, but maybe because i'm biased and doing the exact same thing
