So, the new movie hits NBC on Feb 17.

They use the Shelby GT500 for KITT now. What do we all think? I personally kinda like how it looks, but I'm an old Knight Rider fan so I have to reserve final judgment until the movie airs.

What are your opinions? Think the GT500 can adequately represent KITT?

+1^ wasn't there a gay show about a viper a while back. The show ain't the same without the HOFF. The gt500 KR is more then badass enough to be the new KITT though.

actually there was a show in 98 or some shit called KnightRider TKR or some shit........there were 3 cars and 2 bikes that "merged" into a car. One of the vehicles was a 98 GT Laser Red convertible IIRC.......i wanna say her name was Domino

You are misinformed guys. The Hoff IS in the show, as Michael Knight, no less. As an old Knight Rider geek, I've been tracking the show quite a bit. If you can recall the role "Devon" played to the original series, you have an idea of what the Hoff's new role will be with F.L.A.G. Apparently, the new guy is his son....illegitimate, I guess, since his last name is Tracer. But from what I've uncovered, the Hoff will sort of take on the advisory role that Devon filled in the original show.

It's funny to hear some of you say "better than a firebird" though.....the TRUE KR geeks are FURIOUS about it. I'm liking the new look....but it will have to be a kick@$$ show to sway me fully.

Yeah, I watched the first series of Viper before I joined the military. The rest I had to catch off and on through repeats. The original Viper show was decent, but it didn't have the same personality of KR. And the Defender (what they called that supercar) was cool but it didn't have the attitude of KITT.

I'm with you. I am thinking it will turn out alright, especially after reading a review of the script online.

I"m still a lil iffy on a Shelby being KITT, but the car itself DOES look bad@$$, so we'll see.

I can't stand the lame reality shows either.

The other thing I know:
For a geek like me to get a sweet, current replica of KITT to drive around...they could do a lot worse than a Shelby. Now obviously, they're going to use GT's modded to look like a Shelby for MOST of the scenes (it's more cost effective and KITT was always an auto). So, that's what I'm planning on doing just as soon as I can afford it. I'm getting a GT and will mod the crap out of it until I'm rolling around in a nice, sleek replica of the new and improved KITT.
