cmcv, Installation?

Hey Everyone,

Ive received my cmcv plates from steeda and Im getting my tune from Bama on thursday and going to a shop to get my gears put in on Saturday. Im a beginer/novice when it comes to diy mods. Should I attempt to do the CMCV plates myself?

Also If I do the cmcv plates myself and install the tune from Bama can I drive my car without the new gears in? Im going from 3.31 to 3.90s.

Thanks!

You'll be fine driving it, you can change the gears you have in the handheld. As far as installation, I havent done it mself yet, but it looks and sounds pretty basic. You should be fine.

Yep. Just make sure you RTFM and take your time, and you will be fine.

1 point to mention on the cmcv plate swap is to remove the motor that runs them when you have the intake off. i got mine when they first came out and the manual did not say to remove it, so i left it. well when i asked Steeda about it they said to remove it and tape up the connector, it supposedly save like 3 pounds off the front end... just saying that incase it is not mentioned in the manual because you do not need it anymore

Yea I read the directions and it said to do that. What does this motor do? DO I need any special tools?

If you decide to take the fuel lines off you will need that tool. but if you are good you can use 2 flat headed screw drivers. It is an easy swap. Dont let it intimidate you. The motor is for the actuators that control the butterflys that you are removing.

simple install with basic tools< I believe in the steeda instructions it says to disconnect the fuel rails but you don't have to. there's enough fuel line that you can just move it to the side out uf the way.
