New Exhaust!! Small problem

I just purchased brand new Pypes Muffler Deletes and I LOVE THE SOUND. The small problem is one of the tips is about a 1/2" or so higher than the other. What would be the best way to correct this issue. I realize there are several different opinions, so I'm hoping to get to know what you guys did individually.

thanks

Did you install them yourself? You probably need to losen up the h-pipe and then fit them correctly and then tighten everything back up. Its easier on a lift

Get it to a shop and try heating the hanger.

no lift and no way to heat the hangar... fuck. that sucks. some people talked about bending the hangar slightly? would you guys NOT recommend doing that?

yea, thats the only thing i was afraid of when buying pypes. they do sound amazing though. i really couldnt be happier with them except for the fit not being perfect. i'll try to get out there tomorrow morning and see if i can bend one of the hangers slightly and get tips lined up

What would you guys used to bend the hangers?

your hands. I still need to get under my car and fix mine. The only reason i haven't done it yet is because i want to switch to the pypes mid-muffler cat back.

That scares me a little. Knowing me I'll bend it a little too far, then bend it back, then over again until the metal becomes weak and brittle.

That mid muffler system was tempting at 299. I love the raw sound the muffler deletes give though. Although the mid muffler system doesn't seem to be all that different.

The easiest was to adjust...

Backup on ramps...gives you access to the everything, including the h-pipe coupling which you need to loosen...this will allow the mid pipe to twist. You might be able to just move it a little counter-clockwise to get the tip to lower. Helps to have someone looking at the rear while you adjust to tell you when you get in the right spot.

If you need to bend the hanger, you could use your hands but hey, I prefer sliding a boxed end wrench (9/16 workes well) over the hanger rod and using brains instead of brawn to bend the hanger a little. The wrench will give you the leverage, so little effort is needed and it allows you more control in your bending so you you can see what your are doing. This can be done with everything in place, except remove the rear hanger.

Bending the hangers is fine. Just take your time and adjust where necessary.
