This may be a retarded question but bare with me here. I'm slightly inebriated as well as fairly new to the 3v platform in general.
But I was pondering, when thinking about block choices, about my bottom end issue. Then I thought, I have a 5.4 triton 3v in my '04 F-150. Would it be possible(and/or beneficial) to swap blocks and refresh both?
I mean I have the GT, it's boosted 448whp. Detuned for safety, but I want more, say 650whp range. But I realize I need forged/built bottom end for it. So needing the truck for just hauling a bass boat and mudding every once in a while I don't need the big engine really. Does the 5.4 come forged and if so could it fit/work with what I trying to do?
I'm trying to kill two birds in one stone here since I think the truck is developing the dreaded phaser tick as well.
