Anybody Installed LT Headers On '05 GT

Hello,
Has anybody installed LT headers on an 05,06 GT?
And if so did you loose any power on the low end?

I just got some pricing and the guys are telling me that I will lose some low end power and I should just go with shorties to keep the low end.

Not sure if they know what they were talking about. since ive been sold on putting LT headers such as JBA, Basanni, Or stainless works on mine.

Thank you for your replies..

P.S. Anybody got any good pictures of their LT headers on their GT's

They have no clue what they're talking about. LT's will gain power everywhere, though mostly top end. Haven't installed headers on an '05 so I can't say how difficult the install is or have any dyno graphs to back my claims up, but I don't need any. Anyone that has a real understanding of performance mods knows that LT's are better than shorties.

While it's plausable that shorties might make a couple ft/lbs of torque over LT's (peak, but not average)... is it really worth giving up 10-15 (or more) horsepower?

Yeah I've got MAC LT's and MAC Prochamber on my 05 GT.
I gained across the board, not alot but it was a gain.
I think they help the most when you get into a forced induction setup.

Not sure if you can see the LT's in the gallery or not.
But here's a link.

Did you install the LTs and prochamber Leet? I was wondering if it was as challenging as the install on my car.

No I didn't do the install.

Frank at DTP installed them.

If I recall one side was much harder than the other. I want to say the drivers side but I can ask him to make sure.

I'll also ask him on a scale of 1-10 how much of a pain in the ass it really was.

Long Tubes are the way to go...

They are not too bad on the new GT's...I think it was alot harder on the 99-04's then it was on the new ones...

We installed a set in about 5 or 6 hours...But we had a lift...Just take your time and you can do...

On a Forced Induction car you are going to see nice gains...

As far as difficulty, the passenger side was more of a pain in the behind for me when I installed my headers. I put in shorty headers and I don't think it would be more or less a pain to install LT's. (although I did have use of a lift)
Just by looking into the engine area I thought that the drivers side would be worse because of the ABS unit, but the hardest part was on the passenger side getting to the two lower middle bolts where the engine mount bracket is in the way, there was only one hard one on the drivers side(same area) you just need to get creative with adapters and swivels.
