DR's and new back rims...

Ok so i want to go to 17's for the track with nitto DR's because if i buy both from americanmuscle.com they will mount and balance for free hahaha. Whats the widest i can go for a 17x9 rim?? they have 275/40's then 315/35's but i doubt you can fit a 315 on a 17x9 rim haha.

I would stick with a 275/285 on a 9 inch wheel.

yeah thast what i was thinking is that gonna be wide enough for a good launch with DR's. Do you know how long of a burnout it takes to heat them up for a awesome launch??

Back into the waterbox if possible and immediately spin the tires just enough to get a full rotation of them, but NOT enough to throw (much) water up into the wheel wells.

so im looking at rims from a 99-04 cuz i cant 17x10.5's for 05-08s the offset needed for mine is +45mm and the 99-04 rims are +28mm...which is a good difference. The backspacing is off by 2mm so im not worried about that but could a wheel spacer help out or is there anyway i can make it work??

Offset for a 05-08 rim is 1.10"
Offset for a 99-04 rim is 1.77"

do they make half inch wheel spacers cuz i know this can work

they do make 1/2 inch spacers but I wouldn't use them for the track honestly.

what kind of wheel (besides size) are you looking for?

i would like a 17" rim that can fit bigger then 275's cuz thats a good difference comparing 275's to 315's...i could do 18x10's and 305's but its soooo much more expensive for the tires on 18's than 17's and plus 17's are lighter.

I think ill just stick with 17x9's and 275's i should notice a good difference with that hopefully hahaha

I can't find anything on a 17 x 10.5 inch either.

you would have to run the spacer or get an 18 inch wheel.. you could look into steeda ultralights..
that are pretty light

it's easier to break a wheel stud when using them is all.
