Almost About To Get A Supercharger

Ok so I'm so close to buying a supercharger but I have two questions I want answered before I go out and buy a 2200 novi haha. First, what would save me more gas, a novi 2200 supercharger, or a twin turbo kit? And Secondly, what would be all the essential upgrades required to install and utilize the novi supercharger to it's fullest extent. Alright people let's see some answers

The key thing to remember is you can street drive so conservatively that you do not generate boost. When you do drive this way all power adder cars will still get relatively decent gas mileage.

If you have a heavy right foot and bang through the gears off every light, then you will see a significant decrease in gas mileage.

As for the extent of other items to get the most out of your charger (assuming your getting a bolt on kit entirely):

Gears
Full Exhaust
Intercool
dyno tune

List can go on and on.

you need to do gears for sure, but you can max out your stock motor by just throwing on that novi. but you can do headers, full exhaust, and full bolt on. there are also cam option and getting the heads ported, but i think youll be fine with just the novi. you can get close to 500 rwhp on that s/c alone with no other mods

Hahaha, gas? No supercharger.

2nd Novi to its fullest potential? New injectors, new fuel rail, new GT500 dual fuel pumps, new pullies, new shortblock with forged internals, new rear end, chassis mods etc etc etc......

Anything over 10-12 PSI and your asking to spend some money. Most superchargers have enough potential to blow our shortblocks into pieces.

I just put on the Novi2200 in my 06. The only other mods done are axle back and a shifter. I will be on the dyno tomorrow...I will post numbers but so far without the tune I like the power....A little flat in 3rd and 4th gears untill you get the revs up.....1st and 2nd are a joke. The Novi kit will come with your intercooler, injectors, fuel pump, tuner...etc)

I would go with the Novi...

But the key to this is to have a great tune...Without you will be picking your internals up off of the road...

you shouldnt be driving your car hard with that store bought tune in it. i hope you dont screw it up. you seriously need to wait till you get the custom tune off of the dyno

your 16, you just bought a GT and now you want a s/c.
i dont like when people tell me not to get something but think about it
not only do most ppl hit things with their first car and get scratches and other shit with it they like to drive it fast, and do dumb things
if you want a s/c obviously your looking to go fast. 300hp is alot for a first car, unless youve been driving for a while..,..(NOT A PERMIT)

300hp plus a s/c! 400hp in a first car in the hands of 16 year old, i wouldnt trust myself with that when i was 16. i would have deffinitly crashed it losing control, and i consider myself a good driver.

i'd wait a while before a s/c, start out a lil slower, get some bolt ons and gears.
thats my opinion do as you wish, you know your gonna wana floor it, a s/c only makes traction worse

i would think most related air/fuel upgrades needed for install would come with the kit, but to complement it i would sugguest full exhaust (that's with longtubes), meziere electric water pump, gears, sct custom dyno tune, gauges, drag radials, and eventually a clutch. but if you plan to boost it past 9 psi you will need to change the rotating assemble setup.
