I reused the stock bolt and havent had a problem. just make sure you tq it the way it says and you can not reuse it more then once.

I reused the crank bolt and haven't had a problem but if I had known ahead of time that it is supposed to be replaced then I would have. The $6 for the bolt is probably worth it for the peace of mind.

+1 on reusing the crank bolt. No issues here either.

Are you refering to the longer one that they send you with udp's?? You have to use the new one to get your crank pulley started, then you remove the new bolt and reinstall the original one.

Its the factory crank bolt he is talking about. For some reason they are not supposed to be taken in and out more than once.

Ford started saying that when they started recomending the different tq sequence for it. Ford also recomends that you dont mod your car. but it is only 6 bucks and if he is worried about it then get one. The directions that come with it should say that you will be alright to reuse it once.
