im still very hesitant about the non SS finish though you and me both live on the east coast and i know how quick things rust. I don't want to have to replace headers 3 years from now you know what i mean haha. Im still creepin towards the JBA's or the BBK's to be honest.

Yea, I know what you mean. I drive mine about 6,250 miles a year and its in the garage the rest, so I dont think it would be too bad.

I had them on my T/A for about 3 years before I noticed any rust on them at all but then again like I stated before, the car never seen anything but good dry weather. The rust I started getting was very minimal and it was on the underneath side near and on the merge collectors. Someone asked earlier if they rust inside out or outside in. It would more than likely be outside in. Should take quite some time to actually rust out, just depends on weather conditions I suppose. Some guys have them recoated every couple years to prevent the rusting but that is like $200 I think. So if I ever get headers again they will be stainless. But I would venture to say Pacesetters is probably best bang for your buck header. Very cheap and net pretty much same gains. Just that they are more prone to rust since they are not stainless. If on a budget I would get them again.

Years ago (mid 70's) I put a set of Hooker longtubes on a car of mine. Back then most headers were painted and I only remember one set being stainless. They were on the car for 5 years and I never painted them, but they did get rust on the outside, and held up without leaking. The only problem I had were the bolts loosing up occasionally. btw I live in the rust belt (Cinti. Ohio area) and this was a DD.

this is hte exact quote from the pacessetter guy on my email
"hello , average gain is 12-20 , i recomend the aromor coating which is a ceramic coating , which helps to protect the header as well as reduce under hood temps , rust would depend which header you purchased , the care of the headers , and weather you drive the car in being the biggest , if its never driven in bad weather they will last along time , if you drive it in severe weather , where road salt is used then they would rust quicker , if you do drive in severe climates i would recomend washing the headers off daily , to keep as much as the road salt off ."

Could you get two of the h pipes and some high flow cats welded into one of them or something?

get your car inspected now, so when its time to get the headers you dont have to worry about it for another2-3 years.
