Either way, ceramic coated will last longer, look better longer, and be more efficient.

this sounds good, but if the best(kooks) makes there headers ss, than i think i would want to go with that. I'm sure they know what they are doing. Thats why i want jba's. They sound good, they are fairly priced, and they are stainless steel.

To each their own, I've built a couple turbo imports, same principal...I know how much thermal energy can hurt or help power. I'm going ceramic...it's free h.p. Heat=velocity. Velocity increases how much air your engine can pump at high rpm when the air can only get through the engine up to a certain speed, then your power starts to fall off. Increasing the velocity of the air leaving the cylinders increases the engine's ability to draw more air in, faster. Pump more air+burn more fuel=make more power. It's the same effect as running a mildly higher duration cam, without he cost associated with pulling your heads apart. People say Kook's fit and finish is top notch, if that's what you want, go for it. Stainless will outlast your car. I haven't heard anything bad about Macs, and I like the mid-length design.

Stainless Steel headers will outlast your car because they don't rust..period..but allow more heat then ceramic...decisions decisions i do like the JBA's though and the BBK's are good too and they are ceramic

Not necissarily. Headers use exhaust pulses from other cylinders to assist in the scavening effect, along with keeping the exhaust stream velocity higher. Length is only a minor factor...equal lengh tubes and firing order through the header tubes makes more of a difference than length, but you will see slihtly higher gains with a mid/long tube setup or equal-length over shorties. A stock cast manifold allows the exhaust from the forward cylinders to swirl through all the other exhaust ports on the way to the midpipe. It's the same principle as a smooth-tube CAI...eliminate bends and vortexes in the pipe, and your air moves faster...you're not losing velocity to swirling turbulence, so your engine moves the air more efficiently, which leads to higher volumetric efficiency at high rpms. More power!!
