315/35 r17 VS 325/45 r17

Ok guys now im on the drag radial debate haha and the size difference here. My last trap speed was 105mph but ive added 10 more rwhp with the JLT over the K&N and im adding BBK LT headers which should net like 14rwhp. So my trap speed will be higher im guessing.

Stock 235/50 r18's = 27.3 inches in dia.

M/T 315/35 r 17's = 25.7 inches in dia.

M&H 325/45 r 17's = 28.5 inches in dia.

Stock "effective" gear ratio is 3.55

M/T's bring it to 3.77
M&H bring it to 3.40

what im getting at is i hit 3rd gear at about 6100rpm at the finish line all stock at 105mph

with the M/T's 3rd gear ends at 97mph so ill have to shift into 4th

with the M&H's 3rd gear ends at 108mph so most likely i won't have to shift into 4th....

question is which tire should i go with and how stupid would a the 315/35's look since they are smaller then my stockers?

I'm going with the M&H's for my tires this week, I tried the BFG drag radials that are 26" tall that aren't worth a crap.

The shorter tires do look kinda silly...and it changes your speed -2 mph from indicated. I would go with the taller tires. I run the shorter ones but I'm at the top of 4th at 1/4, so it really doesn't affect me much (I think it makes my final drive around 3.90 ish?). That shift into 4th will hurt you more than help, and if you drive the car well you definitely don't want to bounce off the rev limiter before you cross the line. My $0.02
