check engine light

I just finished installing my whipple and I have a question. I started the car before I hookied up the fuel level wires and I got a error message on the control panel and the check engine light was on. I fixed the gauge wiring and the error message went away but the check engine light is still on. If the check engine light turned on due to this code will it turn off by itself? Another angle is there was another problem would it be listed like the fuel gauge problem was? The car starts and runs fine so what do you think?

I will list another post regarding the install, impressions, etc.... I just want to fix this first. THANKS

unhook your battery for about 1/2 hour it should clear the check engine light, if there is still a problem with something the light will come back on.

Now that is all solved so you can do a nice write up on ur experience with the install and some tricks and tips etc....lookin foreward to the post.

06 black, what are using as a handheld? If it's an SCT when you reset codes it also resets the check light. If the light were to have returned immediately after then you know you have more trouble.

I see you got it all straightened out, but this was another alternative.

no scanner just the ford flashing device.

I will post info hopefully helpful to any other takers looking to get this very soon as time permits for me.
