I wanted to just keep it simple with just easy bolt-ons. Depending on how aggressive the cam profile is you can see gains from20-45hp. The higher HP cams require a lot more intense install so the bill will be much higher.

It's not just common practice in manufacturing to have multiple suppliers for parts, it's a requirement for risk management. What would happen to Ford if Motive's plant got flooded by molasses and they couldn't get gears to Ford for two months? Ford would have to get another supplier up and running real quick. And real quick in manufacturing always means 200-300% more expensive than just quick.

That's exactly what happened to Ericsson in the cellphone market a few years back - one supplier for both Ericsson and Nokia. That supplier's plant burnt to the ground and only Nokia had a backup supplier. Ericsson never recovered from that in that particular industry.
I believe the motiv gears have an 'M; at the end of the FRPP part no. the FRPP gears dont!

I installed the NSR cams, my mate the 'VSR' cams from Comp. The NSR have less lift but interestingly longer duration (in and ex).

The VSR cams are more powerful and offer more torque throughout the entire power curve; we set the cars one after the other on a dyno, mine topped at 371 his at 369 (crank). Mine was still climbing on bhp but torque was dropping, at 6250, I still had 300ft lbs after a peak of 355 (RWTq). His the power and hp curves were dropping away much (500rpm) sooner, though as I say, he got more torque lower down and it peaked higher, cant remember the numbers...

Mine on the day had more bhp, the only difference between the cars is that I have CMCV delete.

Anyone choosing, Id say save on the labour bill and go with the NSRs; (it took us 4 hours to fit mine with 2 tea breaks!) and use the saved labour costs to sort some other bits out!

Add to that... the higher hp cams will lose more down low and thats a decision for a person with a dd or street car wants to think about. I didnt want to give up the low end power for 10 hp up top for that reason. But it depends on your goal and main use of the car.

lower
reduce un-sprung weight and eliminate wheel hop

upper
They attach suspension members to the chassis and manage the motion of the wheels so that it synchronizes with that of the body of the car.
