Hey everyone

Well I got the CAI Intake installed last night and put the tuner on it. All I can say is...wow. I noticed a good difference. The engine sounds a little more mean. I was able to get the tires to chirp in second gear. Throttle response is alot more sensitive. Its almost like driving a new vehicle. I am almost positive to that the rpms run a little lower to throughout the gear. Either way, I am very happy

I could also smell the fuel being burned different. I take it this is normal?

Thank you everyone for your help and support! My next step was going to be exhaust but when i was installing everything last night, I noticed a minor slash in my tire So exhaust will have to wait till I get some new tires.

CAI

Please forgive me for my ignorance, as I am pretty new to the MOD"S for the new tech out today, but don't all CAI intakes do basically the same thing? I would venture to guess that if you got a CAI that has a large diameter, smooth, minimal curves, and looked good, you have it made. Like I said I am new to this pretty much, but I do have a clear understanding that if you get more air in, and tune properly, it ='s more power to the wheels. I purchased a Spectre intake and have a noticable response. Whats ya'lls thoughts, direct me please..

I'd say that it's basically what you said it is, but I think that "cai" without a heatshield, or relocated to even hotter place under the hood (like some brands do idk why?) don't make almost any difference at all... At least not to the better. Also most CAIs gotta be "tuned in" to actually work.

okay so i know this has nothing to do with anything but i was wondering if anybody knows if a saleen front bumper will fit on a stock GT with the stock grille and lights. It looks to me like the space in between the grille and the lights are slightly wider than stock. I am only posting this to see what answer i get because i cannot find this out anywhere else. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think with the saleen you have to get the saleen grille. The fog lights are relocated to the posts just outside the grille. You can find knock off bumpers that don't have this though and u could still use the factory grille.

What would happen to Ford if Motive's plant got flooded by molasses and they couldn't get gears to Ford for two months? Ford would have to get another supplier up and running real quick. And real quick in manufacturing always means 200-300% more expensive than just quick.

That's exactly what happened to Ericsson in the cellphone market a few years back - one supplier for both Ericsson and Nokia. That supplier's plant burnt to the ground and only Nokia had a backup supplier. Ericsson never recovered from that in that particular industry.
Covered in Molasses..LMAO!!!

Hey Red what do you mean about Cat Backs? I kind of didn't get that.. Do you mean that exhaust past the cats is a waste of money?

Well I can finally say I am a proud owner of a 07 Mustang GT. For a really long time ive been wanting to get one and decided it was time to treat myself, after alot of the hardships haivng ot endure in the past.

Ive been doing as much research as possible and came across this great forum, which seems to have alot of great and helpful people.

So the first mod id like to tackle or do, is the first one on the list in the stickies. Doing a cold air intake with a tuner. Even after doing a lot of reading and such I still have a few questions that I hope someone may be able to help me with.

I came to the conclusion that the three brands mentioned in the post is more of a preference (jlt, steeda and c&l) as all three do very well. But it is recommended that a tuner is purchased at the same time with a CAI. Which brings me to my first question.

1. Would anyone recommend a combo pack like american muscle offers?

Or is it best to purchase the CAI you wish and get a custom tuner by itself? For the time being, I just plan on doing cruising and sticking to street mainly. I have no plans to go for super performance or anything real hardcore for a long time.

2. The tuners themselves and the terminology. I see alot of abbreviations/acronyms regarding to these tuners. Such as (just tossing randoms ones out there that ive seen) sct sf3 tuner, diablo style and so forth. Are these mainly just model numbers of the product itself or is there really something behind it? If so, maybe someone could explain or point me in the right direction to read up on it.

Those are the two main questions I have that come to mind for the time being. I am anxious to hear back and hope my questions will be answered As I am ready to purchase a CAI with a tuner. My range is $600-$675 if that helps for any price range questions.

Thank you
Free up the respiratory system for starters, you can do it in phases.. Intake exhaust tune .. Another upgrade that will give you a notable improvement in throttle response would be a gearing change (IMO) you don't get improved horsepower but you get a torquier distribution of the available power.. Great bang for the buck, gears give instant gratification..

Find out if there is any way that a tuner such as SCT can be unlocked to use on your car, this may save you the expense of having to purchase one.. After all, it is simply a tool to flash your cars computer is it not? I see a lot of people selling them second hand, supposedly unlocked which leads me to believe they can be used for more than one vehicle..

I'm sure you can find someone to install the tune without having to purchase the tuner, is that possible? That is my understanding of these tuners, I may be wrong.. But if I am right, you can put the money saved elsewhere...

Congrats and good luck.
