Iowa requires them 2, the dealer already had their frickin plated bolted on when i picked her up... WTF...

Just display it on your dash board, usually that is an acceptable way if you don't want to have that crap on your front bumper (i hate that the dealership drilled it into mine )

Texas requires them - but I still won't run one on front.

Some state trooper did give me a BS ticket cause I didn't have it on and he couldn't get me for anything else... Every other cop I've talked to told me that was a BS ticket and they would never give a ticket for it. That is the only ticket I have ever recieved.

And anyways for your info, if you do get a ticket for it, it wont be considered a moving violation.

Jucostud, whoever told you that if it doesnt come with one from the factory, it doesnt need one in texas is dead wrong. im not trying to start anything, but NO Ford vehicle comes with a licence plate OR a bracket from the factory.........the dealer has to install it........in the state of Texas it is required to have a front licence plate on the road, BUT i can still give a state inspection if you do not have one. Wierd huh?

Oh yea, as most of you know, on the regular GT bumper, ford does not supply a licence plate bracket, you have to bolt the plate directly to the bumper, or do the neat Velcro trick.......wish i woulda' done that with mine lol.

I was pulled over in Illinois, speeding 52 in a 40...then the officer asked me where my front plate was. I pointed over to the front passenger side window, where it was, and I said, "uh, it's right there." So he said it had to be displayed vertically on the front of the car and is going to issue me a ticket for it. I said, "well it is vertically on the front of the car"...no where in the law does it say the front window is not vertically on the front of the car...

I fought this. I brought a copy of the paragraph highlighted with me where it explains about license plates and how it should be displayed in Illinois. Explained to the judge that I had the plate in the window, which is technically vertical, and on the front of the car. Then I explained that the way the statute explains things, and the way I understood this, I was in full cooperation with the law...

He looked at me dumbfounded.

He asked me if I had the plate now on the front, to which I said yes.(stuck it on with velcro strips until I could get this sorted out)

He threw it out of court. So I guess it needs to be on the front...

Dumb law. I'm not causing any problems with it in the window, but that is where they want it.

ya right before i signed the order for my car i started making my demands

no stupid dealership sticker on my bumper. and dont mount the bracket.
