Livewire
This is a question for my friend. He's looking at a CAI/Tuner combo. I've already recommended him to Bama or Brenspeed and to go with SCT. He want's to know about Livewire but I dont know much about it.
- Do you think its worth the extra $200 over an X3? - What are the pros and cons of Livewire? Thanks guys

well I know about the shift light and the display sensor data but I don't know what to tell him. Told him its the same as a handheld tuner but without all the features

He told me CAI, headers, and s/c later down the road. He's a former import guy and the stang is fast enough for him. So I told him then no he wouldn't need the Livewire til he gets a s/c. By then he'll get a dyno tune and the tuner can download that tune to the handheld tuner.

i think it is worth it. it does display stuff thru the OBD II port, you can turn off the rear O2's yourself, change the A/F at WOT richer or leaner. test for hp and tq, although it doesnt read that accurately, test for 1/4 mile and 0-60 times, and a lot more that i cant remember right now, i've been at work for like 11 hours today and got 1 more hour to go so i'm like brain dead right now. but if you got an extra 200 bucks, why not.

i guess to sum it up, the livewire is much like the xcal II and the dash hawk combined.

Idk some guys are saying Livewire is buggy.
Freezing up and locking like a predator not allowing the release of the tune or download of any tune for that matter including stock.

I have the livewire and have not gotten any bugs. That was when it 1st came out but software updates took care of most, if not all the problems. One diff is the data logging...i belive the livewire has more memory and can log longer. And the shift light seems to be acurate and it looks cool at nite with it on the windshield

The livewire runs on the same basic engine as the X3s. I can set you up with one if you decide to go with me.

I saw a Sniper tuning system on Ebay @ $389. buy it now, about the same price as an SCT or Preditor tuner. I read this forum a lot and don't hear anyone talk about this system. It looks like it offers more than a handheld tuner and I believe you can tune more than 1 car with it. Anyone using Sniper or have any experience with it? I'm not trying to go off topic with this, I'm just wondering if this is on the same level as livewire with a cheaper price.

you have to buy "pills" in order to tune more than one car with the sniper.
the SCT is $379 plus you get 2 years of free retunes (even if you add a blower) if you go with trick tuners.
