gutted cats
Has anyone gutted the cats of the factory midpipe. If so was it complicated, how did you do it?
Anyone have audio of what it would sound like?

Pypes was my first thought also. Just curiouse about the factory midpipe. Trying to be cheap. The x/pipe is starting to get to me. Like the sound of the BoomTubes. Maybe i'll just put the factory pipe back on and add those.

Gotta agree with everyone else and suggest the Pypes system. Gutted catts would sound like ass.

Of course this is strictly my opinion, but... I bought the pypes mid muffler system and their o/r X. I didn't even take it off the ramps, it sounded like azz. It had so much trumpeting and popping that I removed the X without even driving it! The next day I gutted the stock H pipe and installed it. Finally...the sound I was looking for! No trumpeting, no popping, no drone, just deep and low with a little "aggressiveness" to it. But...when I installed the turbo it kind of took the "edge" away, and I miss the aggressive sound. I would definitely do it again! I didn't lose any torque either.

You lose 5hp per cat and when you remove them you can gain roughly 10hp
