Need To Replace Shocks With The Eibach Pro Kit?

i bought the eibach pro springs. do you have to replace the shocks with the springs? i was looking at the Tokico D-Spec's. The money isn't that big of a deal just wondering if they are worth what they want. i found them for $530.

What shocks do you all have?

well, just ordered the springs and tokico's. ended up paying $503 total for the shocks. shipping was free and that was the best deal i could find. now if i could just get out of this big sandbox so i can pickup my new car and install everything.

is it hard to adjust the shocks?

I have Tokico Illuminas. They are 5 way adjustables with the adjuster right on the top of the shock/strut. You change them with a small screwdriver. I set mine when I installed them and haven't touched then since.

Not hard to adjust the shocks at all. It's not a necessity to get shocks/struts with the kit either but it would make it easier to do it all at once. Springs, struts, shocks are always worth it.

I installed the eibach sportlines a couple months ago.2 inch drop in the front and a little over 2 inch drop in the rear.I still have the same shocks and the ride is suprisingly good still, and carves the corners much better. And to top it all off,i haven't even got the car aligned yet.I'm waiting to get my wheels and tires next month.

If you like slammed cars, the pro kit will not satisfy your taste.Even most guy's with 20 inch wheels are going with the 2 inch drop.Of coarse the overall tire size diameter doesn't change much,or at all depending which brand.

Eibach springs

When I had mine installed the mechanic said if I didn't replace the struts and shocks with ones designed for lowered cars the stock shocks and struts would 'bottom out'. But I've had two GT verts with prokits and haven't seen any problems.

The stock shocks do wear out faster with a lowered car...But if you get the adjustables they last a good long while...

When upgrading to higher rate springs it is always a good idea to increase the range of dampening of the shock by either modifying it or replacing it with one that will work inside the range of the new springs.

Springs controll the weight of the car, the shocks controll the springs.
