FRPP Borla Stingers Axle Back

So I finally got my Stingers in and installed yesterday. I love the tone, but they seem a lil on the quiet side. The mechanic said that they'll get louder with time, never heard of that happening. Are the stingers quieter than others or is my mechanic right and they will get louder?

And by quiet i mean they are louder than stock, but nothing that will wake the neighbors. Its just that I was expecting the Borla's to be loud

within time the oil that they used to manufacturer the kit will burn off and the sound will increase. my flowmasters did the same thing, after a good month or two they did get a little louder.

if your wanting to get louder with the borlas, get urself an offroad H midpipe or longtube headers.

Yes thats about right for the stingers. They will get a little louder after a while, they all do.

Stingers arent that loud, i know some people say they are but they arent.

And like he said most of the real loud setups are o/r kits or long tubes.

A splice x pipe like the one from frpp will make them a good bit louder as well.

I had the stingers on for about a week before i took them off and sold them on Ebay....way to quiet and not what I expected. Went with the SLP LMs and couldn't be happier!

Some LTs or OR H would make it louder.

I will say it again. LT's and o/r setups are great if you have that kind of money. if not, a 100 dollar x pipe will make it sound very good and louder and you pick up a couple of hp.

Just remember who saved you the grand and the hassle of dealing with emissions and cel's.

I want it a bit louder, but I love the tone and don't want to lose that. What will make it a bit louder but keep the deep tone?

O/R H-pipe might get them a bit louder and deep. But like07stanggt said...gotta worry about emissions then.

They have a prochamber now that mounts to the factory cats. I dont know if it will make it louder or not, i have no experience with them. it wont be as raspy as the x though if thats what your worried about.

Here is the link, if you want it take 15% of that price.

or like redfire said if you want the o/r prochamber that mounts to the stock manifold, that will deffinatley make it louder but it is illegal. it is for race or off road use only. here is the link figure you typically MM 5% off that one.
