factory dud?

what is a decent stock mph in the 1/4 mile?? i went tonight and the best run i had was a 14.09 @98.61 60 foot=2.18 330=5.953 1/8= 9.11 @77.83 1000 11.813

best MPH of the night was 99.16....

The track is in Noble, OKlahoma..dont know the altitude or how the air was tonight, i know there were alot of bugs out tonight

does this sound normal on mph? i know i'm a bad driver, but i thought it would be higher

o yah this car is a bone stock 07 gt with 800 miles, stock 235 pirelli tires
with the 3:55 gears

from 3k-5kish it just felt like it had no hp....

That's about right for an inexperienced driver. With more seat time you will easily be in the 13s. How were you launching? What was the air temp like?

If you're on manual transmission, then that's no shock. I did horrible my only time to the track, there's a large difference between shifting on a daily drive, and race shifting. As others told me, get some more seat time, get used to shifting quicker or power shifting, and you'll see those times drop down to where they should be.

A stock GT driven by a professional should get 13.5-13.8 I believe.

Thats not to bad for your first time. I went a few wks back for my first time also and pulled off a 14.025. Best advice I recieved for beginners like us it to practice launching first. Once you got that down then you can work on your reaction time. 60' is k. Try feathering out the clutch and giving it gas.

yah i had my mach and that was 13.5xx...

The weather was a humid 70's....

i tried diffrent launchs, i did about six runs lol...best one i found that i didn't spin or bog down to bad was just reving up and droping the clutch around 2500...

most of the time i either spun, or bogged so bad it took away all of first gear...

guess the mach just seemed to have more upper rpm power then these cars, hope the cai, tune help that some, it should be in next week

The Machs were lighter than these cars and the 4Vs love the high RPMs. Stock for stock, the Mach is faster.

A real good driver get get your car to run a 13.6. You need more seat time. The best way to launch with street tires is to slip the clutch from 2500.

i got the c&l racer with xcal from brenspeed and also the hurst shifter from them...

yah thats kindof what i did for that better run, but it still just bogged enough to not get me out of the 2.0 60 ft...

the car weighed 3590 with me in it.

edit: most likely i will buy some 4.10's soon, the car just feels like thats what it wants lol and also some headers(still hunting them down to findout what ones wont cost me an arm and a leg but still goo quility)

+1

Slipping the clutch will help and 2200RPM launch... Pirellis suck at traction, I have the stock BFG's on my car and even those sliped @ 2500 RPM if I didn't feather the clutch just right.

A Short throw will also help... ever since I took my Short throw out, I haven't been able to powershift my car as well as I could with the Short throw.
