35% tint

Alright so going to be getting tint for the front door windows and the rear (just ordered SHR louvers) and debating on what do to tint wise. I got a doctors' note but still even with that the law is 35% all around here in VA but I hear everybody saying 20% is the magic number. I will get the shop to show me what it looks like before put it on but wanted to hear opinions on here about it. So is 35% too light? Remember still a college student so not sure what happens in VA if you get a fix it ticket or what but I can't be paying for tickets and retinting. I have a Black stang with red interior just fyi

I have 5% and have never had a cop say anything about it. I guess they figure it is a nice American working mans car so why not?

whats the law down there though...I have no idea how cops are about that stuff here just know that not many have it so would kind of stick out especially on a sports car

Here's 20% on mine with 5% on rear and the strip across the winshield. It's pretty dark in there:

Yea I have seen pics but I don't think I could decide til see in person so is 35% too light and should just man up and get the 20%?

I like what you barely see in the pic...Erin behind the wheel wearing his Oakleys!!!

And if you look real hard boys and girls, he's running 20's in the front with 18's in the rear! He's insane.

I have the 35% legal limit on my side and while it's a difference, I wish it was darker. I'll be retinting (due to the old scratches from before moleskin) to a much lower, probably 20% or 5%.

That's not bad! Some states are getting crazy. One state in the North East had 70%. What the hell is 70% tint!!! Lol.

I think I would get a better tint from my oakleys then the 70% tint on the car

Here's mine: 35% on the sides and 20% on the back. Thats legal in OK. Just about right for me.

I had 35% all around, looked great, until I got a ticket... I have 50% now and they suck.

That's at least some tint. Lucky.

Law in Illinois is no tint whatsoever on front or side windows. I know most people don't get pulled over, but I daily drive my Mustang and ticket money'd be another handful of chash I'd rather throw at legal mods.
