first week impressions/?s

so ive had my 08 gt for a week and love it. only thing i dont really like is the speedometer is kinda hard to read at a glance; and when a cop is ridin my A$$ im havin trouble keeping at the speed limit.

does anyone have a recomendation to replace the 4ft tall antena mast? im pretty sure i dont need one that big.

the only other thing i dont like is the big chrome doughnut on the trunk lid. other than the cdc blackout panel is there a way to get rid of this? i saw the blackout panel on a car and didnt like that much plastic if i pull the chrome thing off what is under it?

still trying to be gentle as im <500miles only hit the limiter a couple times so far; again i have to watch the tach becuase in 1 and 2 it feels like it still has lots of power up there so im not shifting fast enough.

The speedometer is kinda hard to read, but you'll get used to it after awhile. As far as the rear badge, you can buy different styles of them or delete it all together.

You could put the antenna on the rear deck right beneath the window.

AmericanMuscle has a few short antennas available in black or chrome. Mustang Shorty Antenna

I think there are some antenna delete kits out there too.

Soonerstang do you have a link or website for that fascia? Also 06Redfire clue us in on that. Even the shorter ones on the front look out of place IMO>

I shortened my factory antenna. I don't have a pic since I shortened it, but the ball on the end is pressed on. You can pull it off with a pair of pliers( put a rag on it the the pliers). I just took a bolt cutter and cut it to the length I wanted then put the ball back on with red lock tight and painted it gloss black so it would match the car. It actually gets good reception. It's only about 10" now.

i just cut the antenna off with a dremel and left the little stub sticking out, i don't listen to the radio though so if you do this isn't recommended since you get no radio stations unless they are really close or really strong signal

dude that is scary hahaha! i had an experience like that too. in my old corolla i topped the engine at 110 and quickly let off to slow down. damn front end started lifting off of the ground. but hitting that speed was fun.
