engine damage?

I am thinking of installing a 10 psi supercharger on my 08 Mustang Bullitt. My question is , If ! am on the throttle hard 10% of the time, and drive it 90% of the time normally , how long can I expect my engine to last?

Supercharge it and drive the hell out of it. All you can really do is enjoy your ride. If it breaks, great opportunity to build it stronger. just my 0.02...

With around 440rwhp you could easily see 100k if it's tuned right and you don't beat the hell out of it.

I think I qualify for the "beating the hell out of it club" I have made over 60 passes at the 1/4 strip in the last month... thinking about entering a bracket racing series... the car has shown no signs of a problem... so my advise is ..... do it!!!

Agree with everyone else. What is the use of a power adder if you don't beat the hell out of it? If she breaks, forge a stronger newer one.

10 psi is a little high for a stock bottom end, but not out of the question. I wouldn't go higher than that. Lots of guys run 10 on stock stuff. How long it lasts depends on luck, on how you drive it, and most importantly how good the tune is.

Some people blow their bone-stock engines by pounding on them all the time.

My question to you is, do you really think you can keep your foot out of it 90% of the time once you feel that power?

Good luck with that.

Well you can always get nitrous and then you know your engine will be destroyed the more you use it. Thus you will learn the lesson of 10 vs 90

I don't think anyone with a s/c or turbo goes 90/10.... maybe 60/40... maybe

Well wasnt it you that said your nitrous blew out your sparks first shot? I mean from what I hear, not by fact or opinion, nitrous is more dangerous for a car. I mean with a S/c Turbo you have necessary cooling equipment and Im sure nitrous does to. But turbo and S/c mess with air flow vs a liquid/gas injected with fuel. Idk I am pretty much assuming and I could be wrong but I believe nitrous unless well designed will hurt a car in the long run vs diff FI.
