Whipple issue

Hello everyone! I have a near stock manual 2007 Mustang GT that has a whipple HO I had the dealership install around 5-6 months ago. If any of you have experience with superchargers I would greatly appreciate your help. I am having an issue with accelerating and I'll try my best to describe it. Around 2 to 3 seconds, after starting out in first gear, my car seems to lose power and sputter out for a about a second, then the power will kick back in and it will throw my car forward again and run smoothly. Kind of like a whiplash reaction. This also happens when I downshift from 4th to 3rd gear on a roll. Mind you that this only happens when I'm actually putting the pedal to the floor and getting on it a little bit. The only thing that comes to my mind is that I am not getting enough gas to sustain the power, but the HO kit came with dual GT500 fuel pumps so I don't see why this would be the issue. Any thoughts?????

<dealer installed Whipple.

My stock fuel pump went out at around 5K miles, had much the same issues as you are describing. F-ked up my plugs too, and they ain't cheap (zero heat range, like $145 a set). Stealership wanted me to cover them, claimed plugs weren't a warranty item. I pushed on the premis that if my warrantied fuel pump hadn't petered out then the plugs wouldn't have been cratered. Final score: me 1, stealership 0.

sounds like a fuel issue, how many miles on car? When was fuel filter changed last? Might be fouled plugs or a dead spot in the tune

Sounds like a fuel system problem. I'd stop driving it hard until I got it fixed as not to damage the motor. Boost + lean condition = damage!

Thanks for your replies. The car has around 4500 miles on it. As for the gas, I have been strictly filling it up with 93 octane ever since the whipple was bolted on. I'm going to take it to the shop tomorrow and see what they can come up with.

Sometimes you will get bad gas regardless of it being 93 octane every time...go through a few more tanks of 93 from Shell, BP, or Exxon and see if the problem persists. If it does, then take it in...just DO NOT drive it too hard

I've been noticing if i shop at name brand gas stations, my tank tends to go to 250 instead of 220, same driving conditions.

my guess it could be a tune issue.

but also check everything on the fuel system, check to make sure that the dealer installed both Fuel Pump Drive Modules since 2 come with the kit.

have you had this problem since you installed the whipple or did it start happening just recently?

I hope your kidding qwik??? you maybe missing a digit??

On a blower set up we should be starting at .032 if there is blow out reduce the gap in .002 increments until blow out is gone. High boost applications can be as low as .021-.022

Seems a bit open, but you said everything was working okay, just keep an eye things when you spray. Any sign of a missfire, and get out of it. Gap down as needed.

cool i check my trouble codes after almost all my nitrous hits with my tuner to check for misfire codes...then at the end of the night I pull at least 2 or 3 random plugs...its the price i pay...
