Yes, they can be removed easily. The upper inside corner has a lip that rolls around and hugs the headlight housing, and then a lip that sticks up so that when closed, the hood helps hold them down.

I love the look of the covers, but they have been somewhat problematic in that they tend to come loose at high speed, and I've found them sticking out at the outside edges a few times. I bought some 3M two-sided tape that I am going to run along the bottom edge and see if that helps hold them down better.

If these don't work out, I am going to buy actual tinted headlight housings from American Muscle, but they ain't cheap.
