Tinted windows

I want the get my windows tinted, anything I need to keep in mind or tell the place when I go there. I remember reading something about the rear window and the heat coil begin a problem?

Be sure the put on a strip of moleskin on both the driver and passenger door seals. Otherwise you'll end up with scratched tint..

Of course, when done, post pics - that's mandatory..

+1!! Moleskin is important if you tint the front windows, or you will scratch your tints without it.

I'm thinking about tint, but am a little hesitant about removal of the tint at some point (if it fails, etc.) Any issues that have been encountered with the removal of tint?

nah.. spray bottle with water and a razor.. it would come off in less than 2 minutes.

took me 20 minutes to just deglue my damn window on the mullet mobile

if you pull the tint off properly you won't have much glue left on the window.

I'm getting ready to have my GT500 tinted this weekend. Do you know if this holds true for the GT500 too?

i pulled mine off as i was driving to work through a privatly policed town..... it was already peeling, and i didn't feel like getting a ticket

Don't worry, you're safe. I just called the guy who is tinting my windows and he said he already does this for the cars that require it (and the Mustang platform is one of them). It costs an extra $25 but is worth it because I really don't want scratched tint now do I?

Whoah, I did not pay no where near 60K for my Shelby! I know some did, but you can find these for much better than that now. Maybe even a broke a$$ dude like yourself could afford one if you look hard enough. You just might not be able to afford to drive it!

Seriously though, I paid less than sticker for mine. You just got to look real hard!

Do not, and I repeat ...Do Not use the razor blade on the rear window or you will no longer have a rear window defroster!!! You can use a razor blade on the rest though. Most of the shops around here remove the old tint with steam. Works pretty good too.
