4.10's, LCA's, Hurst Billet Shifter, oh

and a couple of dyno pulls.

I went down to Dasilva Racing early this morning for my new toys. I had FRPP 4.10's, UPR rear lower control arms, and a Hurst billet shifter installed. Then I had them strap it to the dyno to see if BamaChips Tuning is really worth their salt.

Woke up at 5:30 am to beat the long weekend traffic, and arrived at DaSilva at 8 am.

Just after arriving.

In the shop.

Then it was time for some dyno fun. Pulls done on a Dynojet.

Here is pull #1. 273 hp/292 tq. I called out 278, but it was 273. My eyes are getting old. lol

Pull #2. 279 hp/292 tq.

Pull #3. 282 hp/292 tq. Joe DaSilva standing there calling the number.

And the print outs.

Joe DaSilva is 42 years old. He's got quite the Mustang history. He is a hardcore drag racer, and has run a bunch of 7 second passes, maybe faster by now. I forgot to ask him. His son runs an 8 second 4 eyed car.

Joe also owns a Vortech charged 450 rwhp S197 that he uses as his daily driver.

There were also a few other cool Mustangs in the shop, and I will pass the pics along in this thread.

All in all it was a fun day. The Hurst shifter is amazing, and has eliminated the hard to find 3rd shift.

The UPR LCA's have eliminated the bad wheel hop.

And the 4.10's are a night and day improvement, without sacrificing economy during normal driving. It's like a different car. On the 90 mile drive home, I got the same 26 mpg with the cruise on at 70 mph as I did before.

My car is basically stock, save for the Airaid CAI, the Predator tuner with the bamachips 93 race tune, and the 4.10's. So all in all I'm quite happy with 282, and very happy with how consistent the torque is.

Turns out the Airaid works just fine. lol

Thanks everyone.

I forgot to include in all my excitement that I want to thank HMUSN as well. I won a contest of his some time ago, so he is responsible for the 4.10's and thus me finding DaSilva Racing.

Thanks Jon.

Yes. You should see his shop man. As I said I'm about to pass along some pics of his 05 and his shop. He literally never stops running, ad he works 7 days a week. The man gets not a moments rest. Yet he called me personally to verify my appointment.

Then, on Fridays he takes all his staff out and buys them lunch. Since I was there, he insisted I come along, and he also bought me lunch.

Yes. One thing I even noticed was like on the hwy, in 5th gear, say at 75 mph when you want to pass someone normally, even just touching the throttle there is a big difference from before.

And I'm quite happy in that I only lost about 350 rpm at 70 mph. Before with the 3.55's I as turning just over 2krpm. Now I'm at about 2400. So I'm quite happy.

Now I just need to save for some cams from you

Yeah it's a great value for the return they give you.

No, unfortunately, I do not get to the track. The closest track to me is about 100 miles away, which totally sucks. Be nice to find out if the dyno numbers hold true or it's just a dyno queen. We have a track near where I work, but where I work is 240 miles from home, so if I break something at the track, I'm bitched. Kinda sucks.
