Opening day at local strip

Cold and windy day. I was hoping for 11's but no go. First run obliterated the tires so I back out. 15.5@85mph. Tried again with TCS on and ran 13.1@113. Dropped pressure to 28# in rear tires and got 12.5@113. Dropped to 26# and ran 12.27@114.5. 60' was 1.96. Kind of disappointed in the Nitto Extremes. 255/50 17. I wonder how low I can drop the pressure and still be safe?

No lower than 18 psi.

Nice times man. That Nittos are you using? The drag radials or the street tires?

And can you post some pics? I have that size going on my car on Monday.

with my mt et streets i go to 15 psi, but it is a totally different tire also.

They're street tires. They look real nice and good price.

Damn that s pretty damn good that you were cutting a 1.96 60' with street tires.

How much did you pay for yours? I'm getting mine for $615 mounted and balanced.
