Saleen Supercharger Advice!

Hey guys, I'm new on here but I've read a few forums and you guys know your stuff and I'm hoping you can give me some advice...

I have a 2005 Saleen s281 3 valve and I'm looking to put a saleen supercharger on it. This guy is selling tells me he's selling his "Saleen series 6 with 39lb injectors and BBK Power Plus Twin 62mm throttle body 4lb pulley" for $1500. It's got 8,000 miles on it and he said he hit a rock and busted his radiator so he took off the supercharger and gave the mustang to his son. I don't think the guy knows much about cars, I'm no pro either, but it seems like the supercharger and it's componants should be fine. I'm looking at the S/C this week, what should I look for? Could this work for me?

welcome to the forums..

he took off the s/c because his radiator busted.. and it's only going for $1500.. hmm something sounds odd..
I wouldn't put a Saleen s/c on my car but the price is right depending if the s/c has any problems with it.

sounds like a deal, if it's in good condition. saleen SC are great. and since you have a saleen mustang, it would be perfect. just beware of buying used SC, have a mechanic you trust evaluate it for you.

i wonder if the Intercooler is busted too?
i would also look at the mustang that it was on to see the damage on it.

If the supercharger is in good working order it is a steal.

The new gen Saleen blowers are pretty damn good actually, unlike the last gen.

+1

And even take pics to show and ask people about it if you have to. If he won't let you, then you know somethings wrong with it.

Went to see the superchrager today! Dude is on crack! All he had was the main unit out no toher componants and he tried to paint it to match his car. Guy tried to run NOS through it too, who knows what he's done to that thing! Before I even started asking the price he said he'd take it for 500 less then he was asking! ha ha I kind of got my hopes up!

sorry about that. always be weary of a deal that sounds too good to be true.. because it that is exactly what it probably is.

that is so true!!!! You grt what you pay except for the GT500 spoiler from the spoiler store!!!!!! I want one of those so bad but getting my divorce from the B***H is more important. Talk to JDM Engineering about the Saleen Chargers. Brenspeed is good but JDM has a way better throttle response on these Superchargers, plus they only work with Saleen SC's.
