Fun Ford Weekend

We're having fun except for the heat and unbearable humidity. I left at 10am...just couldn't take it. You can escape the heat in the shade, but the humidity was awful. Most folk were running way off their times, many as much as half second. Car performed well on the 20 lb boost, but times were off by 3 or 4 tenths from what we expected but given the 90+ temps and 75% dew points, were excellent all the same. 10.6s and 10.7s at 128

He's going back tomorrow, try and change a few parameters...but you can't change the weather. Here's a low res pic of a launch...too bad couldn't see right front wheel.

So does humidity effect the time?

Hope someone with more knowledge than I can confirm or correct.

With forced induction, it's all about air density...cramming in as much as you can under boost. The more humid it is, the more water molecules are replacing oxygen molecules and the air being crammed is a lot lense dense, like being at high altitude where the air is less dense. You add high temps and that just makes it worse.

Steve you should run a small shot of nitrous to cool the intake charge.

It's over.
It took the car 20 lbs of boost to achieve what the car did 5 weeks ago in much cooler drier air, at 16 lbs. Most everybody we spoke to with FI, was off 3 to 5 tenths.

I have 13 timeslips, all in the 10s

Best 1/8 6.77 @ 102.08
Best 1/4 10.62 @ 127.28

Highest mph 128.90

Hey Steven, pulling the wheels in this heat you may need to consider some wheelie bars when the weather cools off.
