How much for gt500 front end?

I have seen a couple members with the gt500 front clip on their GT's (bumper/front fascia) and it looks amazing! I think I like it better than the aftermarket options. What is the cost of this swap? Is ford the best (only) option for the gt500 front end? (meaning, is there a reputable aftermarket company making a gt500 front end, or just the oem gt500 stuff?)

Is the entire front bumper unit one piece or two? (the upper grille area is one piece with the bumper/lover grille area right?)

Any info or pics/links would be much appreciated!

Thanks juco and v6 for the info. So how much is it for just the gt500 grille? Does it fit up to the oem gt bumper ok?

And DeMello... dont worry im not retarded... SVTf is my daily driver and im shopping for an s197 at the moment (debating on that or waiting for the 09/10 stang).

lol...alrite, didnt know if you knew or not

and btw my suggestoin would be to get a muscle mustang and fast ford magazine (if you dont already have one)

and look at all the different online sites they have with body kits and check out there prices

i know in like every issue they have a bunch of different copies that sell bumpers and grilles

you can't do just some of the swap. all the parts are differant. you need hood, fascia, grille, and lights

no, that was directed toward me (remember, the one who dosnt have a mustang yet, but is talking about modding one lol).

And thanks juco for that info. I just really like that gt500 grille (the angled part in the upper grille area) over the stock or some of the aftermarket gt grill areas.

O dont worry im a car NUT, I am just finishing up school so I dont have a steady career yet, which means no big bucks for a new car...YET!

If you don't like the stock front end, here is a cheap solution

i'd wait on the 2010 with the 6.2 option i believe. it's supposed to have around 400 to the crank and it's about damn time they should also forge the bottom from the factory also. especially if you haven't started a steady career. it gives you a couple years to get one started.

Juco: Your car looks hot! Very nicely chosen parts, it flows very well!

And psychobob: my plan at the moment is to hold out for the newer stangs (and to see what gas is going to do). I love the idea of the 400 hp 6.2, but i asked in aother 2010 thread and most beleive its going to be reserved solely for the top of the line (ie...gt500) model, with the rest of the GT (or models based on the gt) will get a standard v8 (If i remember right its possibly a 5.0 but most likely a redesigned 4.6?)

All I hope is that Ford impresses me because this is their LAST chance to do so! If they screw this up, and i have faith they wont, then im off to the likes of chyrsler or chevy to find a car that falls at least somewhere within my wants and needs! After disbanning SVT...I lost all faith, but there is a glimmer of hope with the 2010!

Come on ford, Step up to the plate!

FYI- To swap front ends on a GT you will need the bumper, grill, and hood ( not sure if the headlights are the same or not ). But the GT500 hood is just a touch longer then the GT hood. It wont match up right if you use a GT hood...
-Also is that 2g estimate for parts only? by my calculations the parts alone cost more than that then add about another 600-800 for prep/paint.

Ya, the gt500 front end is purdy, but for 2-3k IM OVER IT! lol...

O dont worry I absolutely LOVE my svt focus as a daily driver. I still get a semi when I walk up to her and the sun shines on her just right..shes all blacked out and loves it!

SVTf is known for its handling but a big pat on the back to ford for under powering it! Come on...a N/A 2.0 pumping out only 40 more hp over the regular focus? They have (should say HAD at this point in time) the lighnting and cobra with amazing powertrains and great overall packages...then the countour...which...nobody really liked anyway ( ) and the poor lil focus! All the car mags loved the svtf and rated it very well on its track handling, but it got left behind in the straights by the likes of the srt-4 and other ill-handling cars that had enough power to blow the doors off the N/A 170hp svtf! I forget which mag did the comparo, but they had the time of the svtf's slalom within a few tenths of the same-gen M3 (a pretty good feat in my book!).

As the svtf gets older it looks like its trade-in is plumitting (wish it was like the terminator that does not seem to lose much if any value over the years!!). I will probably hold onto it as a people-mover and extra car since the insurance is cheap, and it does reasonably well on fuel. Right now i think it KBB's around 8k, so probably 7k private party and maybe 4k trade in (YUCK!). I love this car too much to let her go for that! Not to mention I now have 3 sets of tires (uhp summer dailies, winter snows, and track tires) and two exhaust setups for her! lol...
