FRPP cam specs 133 LSA???
I found these specs on another site. 133 LSA seems VERY high. Can anyone verify this?
Intake Lobe: Production Ford Racing Cams IVO BTDC 15 49 deg. IVC ABDC 53 51 deg. Total duration 248 280 deg. Duration @0.006 262 deg. Duration @0.050 200 deg. Exhaust Lobe: Production Ford Racing Cams EVO BBDC 80 97 deg. EVC ATDC 19 19 deg. Total duration 279 296 deg. Duration @0.006 281 deg. Duration @0.050 216 deg. Overlap 34 68 deg. Lobe separation angle 133 deg. Valve Lift: 11mm 12mm Please note that VCT cams have strange events from what you normally see, because of the VCT capability. If stiffer than production springs are used the VCT phaser will make a ticking noise and eventually fail. Stock springs have been used with this cam up to 7000 rpm. Peak power with the stock intake, FR cams and CNC heads is 6500 rpm. The opening and closing numbers listed are for the cams in the fully advanced position. They can be retarded up to about 55 degrees from these values by the VCT. The Ford Racing cams will not show any power improvement over production if they are installed in the fully advanced position and the VCT is locked out because the intake closing point would be essentially the same as a fully advanced production cam. 1) 3v at 12 degree retard is about where the production cam events happen near the power peak rpm. 2) 3v at 17 degree retard is about where the production cam events happen if VCT is locked out and cam is installed 1 sprocket tooth retarded. 3) hot rod at 17 degree retard is where the "hot rod cam" events happen if VCT is locked out and the cam is installed 1 sprocket tooth retarded. -Ken

Where did you get this info?
Also, I'm stupid when it comes to LSA. Why is it a bad thing?

lobe serperation angle. normally your talking about a LSA of 106 to 116. So 133 degrees of seperation in the angle of the lobes would be very wide. thats all. Im not saying its bad or not. just seems like a high number. especially considering the idle on those cars. more narrow the seperation the rougher for the idle, there are other factors though before it starts another cam debate.

Interesting...
Well, I still don't think I'm going to install them myself, but I should be able to have them in by next week. I'll keep everyone posted!

actually now that i look at those number more closely i think they are way off. That looks like a mix of the stock specs and the hot rod cams. yea thats what it is. a 12mm lift on the hot rods, stock is 11, the advertised duration is 280 and 296, dont know what it is @.50.

I am going to try and have it profiled today. 133 LSA is WAY wider than anything I have heard of. Maybe its a typo and supposed to me 113. I'll let you all know.

113 would seem right. consider the lope on those things with the other specs.

Well, it was going to be $150 to profile the cams locally and honestly I dont want to know that bad. I'll get the real specs some other way or try the shop in vancouver.

I was reading about the new LS9 Vette engine yesterday and saw them talking about the cam and its LSA of 122 degrees. That really stuck out, so 133 is really way out there. 113 seems seems more within a normal range.
