Breaking up in rpm

I have a 05 gt with a paxton sc. I feel the rpms break up und
er a heavy load like when you bang 1st and 2nd. I can also hear it in the exhaust.. When i got the kit it came with hto but they were not gapped. I noticed the break up and then gapped them. Do you think if i but the plugs from jdm pre gapped it would cure this problem bc they say their plugs are gapped with a special tool. Or if you think it something else let me know thanks chris

Gapping is not as simple as buying some pre gapped plug and it being the end all fix. These plugs do require a special tool, and the gapping is different on different supercharged cars..

that said it does sound like your describing a possible spark blow out issue which can be remedied via gapping. Gap down in .002 increments until your blow out is gone..

Several others that have worked through this issue will chime in I'm sure.

The tool for gapping can be purchased here: 3V Spark Plug Gapping Tool [PMP-001] - $24.95 : Piedmont Modular Performance, Specializing in late model Mustangs

tried the gap trick to no avail; my problem just continued to get worse, its at the tuner now and he is going to go into the computer tomorrow and do everything possible to remedy this prob. quite a few are having the same problem and hopefully i'll know something by tomorrow night or thurs. i'll post as soon as i know something.

Prinzzz, the majority are having spark blow out. Common amongst us with the superchargers. If the car ran well without break up for a duration of time and then developed the problem it won't be the tune.

Like the rest of the modular world, you have to find a way to get the boost to not knock out the spark, this should be done via gapping. What did you gap down to? I've physically had to take a turbo'd car down to .020 in order to eliminate the blowout problem. That's a significant reduction and most won't go that far, which is the only reason I ask.

If you find a tune problem now, I'd question the tuner as to why. Looking at your signature, a tune with problems is like playing with a stick of dynamite on a stock bottomed supercharged and sprayed car. Basically unacceptable.

i went down to .028 from .035. im not re-tuning, im hoping to find the prob thru the computer, which is why we have them, one of the reasons anyway. my problem is getting worse every time i drive the thing. im thinkin some kind of air or vac leak or fuel dilivery prob. we cant hear or see anything that might be loose or obvious, so were going into the computer data because its not sending any codes either. no check engine light or anything. might you have any suggestions?1 more clue, its really bad when its cold and gets better as it warms up, like its expanding and shutting the leak, but it doesnt completely go away
