FRPP cams sound clip FINALLY.

So, I got the cams installed. Went pretty well, took about 5 hours by myself and my first time doing an overhead cam. I didn’t use any special tools, just some zip ties, a sharpie, some zip ties and some luck I guess.
First of all, the cams sound great. I'm posting a clip in here. Second, they REQUIRE tuning. The mail order tunes will not work until they have a set and can tune a set. You need about 10% more idle air and about 5^ more timing at idle. I also upped my Idle RPM to 800 park/nuetral and 850 in gear. The rest of the tune seems to be ok out the box for drivability but it won’t idle and stay running when coming to a stop without these changes.
As for power, I cannot tell, I am running a new tune and my Vette kinda has my seat of the pants meter all F'd up. I does not seem to have LOST any low end grunt, but it never really had any. I am working on that with cam phaser timing and ignition timing. I can hear/feel it being held back by the tune (even when it was stock) so there is definitely more low end to be had. It pulls hard to from 3000 to 6000, will pull hard past that when I get the tune dialed in and I'm sure I didn’t mess anything up during install. That’s all I got for now. Enjoy.

Yep, pretty sure these are the cams from the video. He's got a different exhaust setup but the lope seems very close.

I didn't take any pics. Plenty of pics in the NSR install thread. It's pretty strait forward if you are mechanically inclined.

Music to my ears! You're lucky to be able to install them yourself. Not only do you save money, but it must give you a feeling of acomplishment. I love the old school look of the rear louvers.

Stock exhaust except for the flowmaster axle back. I am thinking I may do hi flow cat just to open it up a little. It sounds just a little to tame for me.

u could lose to much back pressure and a little low end torque , i hear some of the guys moaning about loss of low end torque just from installing some axlebacks,with high flows it could be worse , yea but with those new camms u will have too much power and u could shoot ur EYE OUT lolololoolol
