I think those bastards welded my exhaust!
So I seafoamed my engine today, and then changed me oil. While I was under the car I was checking out the situation since I'll be installing headers next weekend. I was looking over all the clamps, and I think when I took my car in to get my Pypes Mid-Muffler installed, they welded all the clamps! I should have took some pictures, but didn't think about it at the time.
Either way, if this is true, how the fuck am I going to all of this apart to install my headers? Uugggghhh... Seriously, if you don't do it yourself, you just pay someone else to do it wrong

Where the clamps and pipes join. Looks like there is a little spot weld. Its not like its all around the whole thing. The spots are maybe 1/4" long.

The welds are nowhere near the bolts.

If the welds are truely "spot welds" you can try to use a Dremel to grind/cut them out. Won't make much of a difference if it doesn't work ... you'll either be buying new pipe or taking it some where to have the welds cut and redone. If you can get them out but end up taking out a little too much material ... no worries, put your exhaust together and and take to a shop to have it rewelded. In the end though if you are looking for it to be "bolt on and off" you'll probably have to get new pipe. The joys of it all ...

welding your exhaust is the best way to do it anyway. after of course you get it how you want to keep it for the long run.

Grabber is right. Should be able to grind the spot welds off with a Dremmel or grinder.

Like I said, this was just a quick glance while draining my oil, so maybe they aren't really welded (it was cloudy/about to storm, so not much light either).
I'll let you guys know if I run into any issues.

Yeah, I've got a dremel with grinding wheels and such, so even if they are welded, I can break them. It'll just take more time. Uggghhh...
I already imagined installing the headers and prothane mounts myself would take me the better part of two days.
