Question

Cheapest place to order Mickey Thompson Drag Radial - 275/40/17?

Well, one of the last things I have to order are some drag radials. It seems like the Mickey's are a good tire, so I wanted to know if anyone knows there the cheapest place to order them might be.

I'm putting these on my stock wheels, so I can't go any bigger than 275/40/17

Best price I've found is $177.95 so far at SuttonHP -
Mickey Thompson Drag Radial 275/40/17 - Sutton High Performance

With shipping that totals $381.32 for two tires, and then I still need to get them mounted and balanced.

Anyone know any other places?

My dad has that exact tire on his gt, I've taken it to the track 3 times in the past two weeks, they blow big time. Car runs 12.3's in the summer easy, ran a 12.4 once with a passenger, but since then consistan 12.7-13.4s which is rediculous. They spun a tad doing a 60 roll the other day.

Nitto 555r's are a great tire as well but everyone has their own opinion I hate BFG drag radials some love them. never tried the M/T drags but my bud has set of 315s on his cobra and he likes um. Im happy with the nittos....

Your sig says you have 18” wheels? If you have spare 17” rims you are using for the track get the cheater slicks. Don't waste your money on drag radials.

Thats an option as well. I didnt do it that way becuase one, i didnt want to change tires at the track, and two, i have launched at 3000 and it dead hooked, I tried 3500 once and it wheel hoped a little but not much. i think with control arms I will easily hook from 3500. What are you gonna launch at with slicks 5000, get ready to start fixing things if you regularly launch at that rpm. Plus you can always throw the mickeys on for some saturday night...... cruising around town

Yeah, I'll start with the Drag Radials and then when I beef up things some more (and get a little more seat time), I might think about moving to cheaters. For now this should do me well.

You will like them I have about 90 runs on mine and not a lot of wear yet. I drive them to the track which is nice. I driven in the rain with them on, and not bad traction at all. I was surprised.

I would just buy the tires since I don't need wheels (have 4 of them in the basement).
