Installing Plenum/Intake/Engine Cover

Guys, I need help please...

Got my plenum cover yesterday. It fits perfectly and looks beautiful. Unfortunately, they didn't send any hardware or instructions.

So we stuck it on there and discovered that the bolts there should work. Took the bolts off but they don't fit through the front part. The back ones we figured it would be okay to just stick the black caps on over the top but the front bolts are too wide to go through the rubber grommets that are on it.

Any suggestions from anyone?

Thanks guys!

Pics

K...

Here's the cover pushed down over the top of the 2 bolts in the front where the intake tube connects to the ugly black thingyn (plenum I assume?) that I'm covering up:

Here's what it looks like when I lift it slightly - you can see the bolts...we just stuck them back in but the bottom part of the bolt under the washer is too large to go through the holes on the cover:

Side view:

This is the little black cap thing that is taped to the wire covers - it just slides over the top of the bolt that is holding the back part down so we stuck the plenum cover over the bolt and pushed the cover back on over the top of it:

Surely I don't need different bolts for the front of it???

Here is what I could find.....

PLENUM COMES WITH 2 STUD/NUT FASTENERS WHICH REPLACE THE 2 UPPER THROTTLE BODY BOLTS. INSTALL THE 2 STUD/NUT FASTENERS FIRST INTO THROTTLE BODY. PLENUM SIMPLY SLIPS OVER THE ENDS OF THE STUDS AND THEN PUSHED OVER THE 2 FUEL RAIL STUDS IN THE BACK. YOU DON'T NEED TO DRILL OR FORCE OR MODIFY AS SOME HAVE TRIED (??) THE PLENUM COVER DOES NOT GO UNDER THE NUTS ON THE STUDS!!! DON'T MAKE IT HARD!

So it sounds like there was hardware that should have come for the front two bolts?

Is that how you're reading it?

yes, there should have been 2 bolts with studs that replaced the top bolts on the throttlrbody.

If I remember correctly the 2 lower bolts on your throttlebody are studs and can be swapped to the top and the top to the bottom. It might work but I am not sure since I haven't had a stock intake on my car in 2 years.

you can pick up the bolts at any Ford dealer for $5 and make it fit. That is a Factory Ford Plenum so they are installing them on thousands of cars. They would have them over there.

I am not sure you would have verify the lower ones are studs. Not turn it over just swap the top and bottom bolts.

The ones in the back seem to be pretty securely attached. The 2 in the very front have a fatter end and a skinnier end with a bold head and washer in the middle. The washer is obviously free turning but the hold head is solidly attached at about the upper 1/3 of the bolt. The fat end is the end that is currently in there.

I'm not sure what you mean by "top and bottom" - the fat end and skinny ends???

The 4 bolts that hold your throttlebody on. They have 2 on top and 2 on bottom of the throttlebody that bolt it to the intake manifold.
