Tomorrows projects
Well, today I fixed my water leak, which was huge, and then I painted my GMS Radiator Support, because it was blue!!! Yikes! I used flat black engine enamel to paint it. Came out great.
![]() Tomorrow I'm going to try to get the following accomplished - 1) Install drilled rotors and new pads 2) Paint calipers 3) Remove stock sway bar and stock radiator support 4) Install GMS radiator support 5) Install Prothane motor mounts (I guarantee I wont have time for this, but I'll try) Wish me luck!

Tribal, I been doing these without pulling the motor support bracket, the motor can be raised enough to get the oem mount out from under the bracket no problem. The prothanes go in easier since they are shorter in height.

How are the prothanes on driving? Are they alot louder? I heard they create alot louder cabin noise!

Dremel is your friend for the stock mounts. I couldn't get my engine high enough, so I just cut the studs off and they slipped right out. Put the Prothanes in at the same time...and that was with headers already installed. I then swapped the standard size Prothanes for the lowered ones and that was even easier.

There is a lot more feedback in the cabin with them. It's not only an audible change, theres an input in feeling as well from the change in rigitity.

Thanks emay. That would save me some time, for sure!
My cams are already bouncing the car around at idle, so I'm sure with these mounts my car is going to visably shake.

Well, because of the storms that came through, I've only got my front rotors and pads on at the moment. Going back out to do the rears shortly. I think I'm going to have to defer a lot of this until tomorrow as we've got some wicked weather right now.

The GMS radiator support/sway bar delete should only take about 20-30 minutes if that makes you feel any better.

Well, I'm taking the car in for 4.10's this morning, so probably won't get to the radiator support, but I'm sure I'll be happy with just having the 4.10's today

The gears? Dude... before I got this car I didn't even change my own oil. I've already done a lot on the car that I didn't think I'd do myself, but I'm not even going to attempt to do my own gears. I'm leaving that one to the pros.

That's bad advice - not only with Tribal's newness to minor mechanical work, but especially with the variances between FRPP's 4.10 gears which had a production run vended for 6 months to Motive and for the most part guarantee they'll whine when installed by even some of the best rear end setters out there, let alone the backyard mechanics without the skills or mic'ing tools.
