Very odd???

Well as most you guys know I am running Black 20inch Shelby Razors on my car 9inch all around... Ever since I put them on I noticed that my rear end is shifted... The left side rear tire is more pushed in or ressesed then the right side rear tire which is actually poking out more.. If you look at my car from afar but dead center in the middle you will notice the wheel/rim actually climbs up the fender wall higher on the right side then the left...
I am trying to explain it but its hard...
I would just take a picture but my car is getting wet sanded..
In the end I called my Ford the one that replaced both my rear axels to ask them about this.. They said that the rear axel parts are all one item number so it is impossible to mix up the right side with the left and that the car must have a shifted rear end straight fromt he factory...

Do you guys have any ideas???
Also when I installed my springs and painted my rotors I noticed I had oil on my right rear axel???
I have always had a whine when making turns but i just suspected it was normal for a solid rear....

Any input would be nice...

-Joe

you lowered your car. you need a adjustable panhard bar to relocate your rear. Mine was the same way until i did it. its moved to the left i think? Its from the springs not the rims or the axle.

Panhard bars

I honestly would have thought the same thing but it was like that before I lowered my car though... You may have made me think of something though because I do have a couple blow shocks/struts... My back right actually sits | | <--- Exactly that much higher then my left side rear...
What do you think about the oil being on my right rear axel???

Check your panhard to see if they bent it or screwed it up on the reinstall. If its bent you will be off center. How low did you drop it? You may have install a adjustable panhard to recenter the axle. Did you tighten the hardware on the ground when you installed the springs? The suspension is supposed to be under load if you re-tighten the control arms etc.......

well a noise when makeing turns could be from the differential, its not normal. There is a TSB on that. But your axle was alread replaced you said. The oil, i dont know, above my pay grade but where is it exaclty on the axle? comeing out of the rear?

I just did the Eibach Prokit drop... I think it is like 1.25/1.75 inch drop... For the rear all I did was unbolt the rear sway bar or panhard bar and had the axel drop a little onto a hydraulic jack... I have not really stared at my panhard, it may actually be bent... I will have to look when I get the car home...

by the way blown shocks and pro kit springs are a bad combination. if your on a budget id get the shocks all the way around before anything, lowering springs and good stock shocks dont work well together let alone bad stock shocks.

Technically you can live with the rear being off center due to lowering springs.

maybe unrelated to your problem but i thought i would throw it out there.

I Know the blown shocks/struts are from that incident and I would not doubt the rear end being shifted from it... I do have a 2-3 Year warrenty on my rear end because of the work Ford did to it to fix my mistake... The Oil was on the center of the rear axel right on the top... I really couldnt tell where it was coming from...
I am contemplating taking the car back to that dealership for multiple reasons... Turns out the car had some body work done to it before I bought the car...

I was looking into the Tokic shocks and struts all around... But as it is all my checks go straight to my car payments... I would have had everything payed off if it wasnt for the accident...

I will post some pictures a little later...
I am assuming that "venting" too much is not good...

actually from factory most cars are slightly shifted to one side on the rear. I noticed that too on my car before the suspension install along with my 18"s on the car. adjustable panhard bar will correctly center it bro! no worries.

invest in the panhard bar brace for support as well.

have you had a gear swap in your car???? the leaking oil is coming out of the "vent" on the right axle tube........it is sort of an "overflow"..........when you fill these diffs up, you fill them up until they start to drain back out of the fill hole...sooo when they start draining back out most ppl just throw the plug back in them, and not let the excess drain out.........all of the excess fluid will blow out the vent.........no big problem. Or you have done a few too many left turn dohnuts

didnt read the whole thread. I have the same thing Joe. It's normal these cars seem to sit a quarter inch higher on the passenger side. Stock from the factory too, but you notice it less because the wheels are tucked more into the fender. The after market springs don't take this into consideration I guess. I've seen a lot about it on mustang forums. Mine appears to be a half inch taller on the passenger side it bothers me to no end lol. I checked countless mustangs at carlisle also, a lot of them seemed to have a quarter inch to half inch difference. As for one side sticking out, an adjustable panhard rod will take care of that

its not really an overflow...its meant to keep the rearend from pressuring up...it vents constantly....but is it gets plugged then your rearend will pressure up and pop and send some fluid with it. ive have had it happen. might need a new vent cap.
